'Still Waters of Etherow'

Compstall is without doubt one of the jewels when it comes to beauty spots in this area of northern England. The stunning view out over the lake was my insparation, enjoyed by sailing clubs, anglers and families out for a walk and to feed the ducks. I wanted to capture an early morning sunlit scene. The strong morning light breaking through the branches and leaves of the tree, giving off that bright yellowish greens, casting long shadows on the stoney ground. Painting each stone was a task, but I tried to capture that detail I love.
In the centre of the painting stands the artistic metalwork structure forming an information board. What it says I'll leave to your imagination.
