'Shredding The Gnar' Oil on Panel, size A2
Shredding the gnar is snowboarding terminology used to describe a gnarly and difficult run, skilfully executed ride on a snowboard (shredding) and I think I captured that very moment of sporting perfection. The inspiration for this painting came from a previous piece I did called 'Helping Hand' I particularly enjoyed the challenge of painting fabric in sunlight.
With this painting, I had the two bright contrasting colours of the red jacket and the pants in yellow to work into this winter scene.
Capturing the detail of the head gear, the flow of snow around the snowboard and of course creating the icy slope.
The oil painting was completed in October 2025
