'Buttermere in Bloom' oil on panel 12" x 8"

Original oil painting, size 12” x 8” on a 6mm primed MDF panel. The scene is of the stunning Buttermere Valley in the Lake District, England.
The detail in the painting required approximately 65 hours to complete, and was my first painting of 2022. All original paintings come with a certificate of authenticity.
 
Stood by a wall on one of Loweswater's lanes on a beautiful summers day, the view down the Buttermere Valley with a flowering meadow is awe-inspiring. A glimpse of Crummock Water is the only clue to the fact that two lakes sit in most of the valley floor. The small peak in the centre is Rannerdale Knotts, watched over by the towering mountain of 'Mellbreak' on the right side of the painting.
There is peace and tranquility here, with only the sound of singing birds. I have the Lake District all to myself.
